That game was the equivalent of a Nittany Ned post.

Bad enough Boeser got 2 more. But was there any doubt Pouliot would get one? Disappointing. Glad I couldn’t watch any of it.

Sutter scored too? Oh, that's rich.

40+ shots again. Their team shooting percentage must be atrocious.

They ran into a 'hot goalie' the last few games according to the radio post game. They've taken that one off the shelf and dusted it off, I had hoped it would die with Steigerwald.

I'm convinced that Carl Hagelin will indeed never score again.

1. NHL goalies are good
2. The Pens shots all seemed from 35+ feet

The number of shots certainly doesn't tell the tale. Most of them weren't great scoring chances. Yeah, dude made some saves, but not many (if any) were of the impressive variety imo.

Just a lot of instances where the Pens hesitated a second too long or telegraphed their shots.

Extremely frustrating game to watch.

On the one hand, I thought that after a slow start, they have played pretty decently these past couple games. They're just falling prey to some defensive miscues and bad bounces. It's tempting to think that if they just keep doing what they're doing, they'll start winning more often than not. These past two games haven't at all been those horrible 7-1 games.

On the other hand, it's not an accident that guys like Hagelin, Sheahan, Reaves, et. al. don't score, and all the shots on goal and zone time likely won't change that.
