Because of course Whipping Boy would miss the net on the shootout. Why the F wasn't Kessel the 3rd shooter?

Tanger used to be almost auto-goal in the SO.

One could suppose Sully was trying to give Tanger a shot of confidence but daggone, don't you use Phil in that 3-hole?

Any overall progress last night? Friday was not inspiring.

I'm open to the team just being emotionally gassed from the last two very long seasons.

They were certainly invested in last night's game, for a change. They showed glimpses of what they might be capable of. And I maintain that it would be perfectly understandable, if they're just trying to get this early, brutal part of the schedule over with.

Yes, particularly in the 3rd...down, on the road, they played an inspired 3rd and OT...

Well doesn't that just give you a warm and fuzzy.
The reality of coming out of a back to back with 1 point is a bit more chilling.

Coming from behind on the back nine to swipe a point with a goalie with no NHL experience against the defending Campbell Conference champs is a positive...we played well in the 3rd and OT, so you're feeling good about that going into a not-terribly-taxing, pretty normal schedule...Buffalo, Ottawa, Chicago, Vancouver, Boston...not very good teams overall...you just try to string some positive things together here and get on a bit of a roll...these next two weeks or a month is where teams actually start to evaluate where they are, how they feel about their situation...right now, we're a point out of 1st and no one is really having a good season outside of, who, Murray, Maatta, Kuhnhackl and Kessel...?
If things don't start to "normalize" over the next month, then I'll develop some anxiety...
