FYI Walsh is the creepy intermission guy...Matt McConnell does the pxpAlright!
Walsh and Tyson Nash IMO one of the best broadcasting tandems in the league.

It is an extreme rarity that a player plays an NHL game and I don't have any idea who he is...tonight is one of those night's...who the **** is Dakota Mermis? Is that the kid from Bad Santa or something...?
GDT #17 Pens vs Coyotes, 11/07, 07:00 PM EDT
Pretty great name. Sounds like a character in a Vonnegut or Pynchon novel.

Mermis isn't even listed in the game guide.

I think he's one of those fake grayed out players from EHM when you don't have a compliant roster...that would explain it.

Schultz is significantly smarter than Letang.

Letang has looked more comfortable tonight than he has lately. Well, lately meaning since like 2014

Arizona is so easy to play against. No one finishes their checks. They don’t have a ton of speed. They try to forecheck hard, but it is ineffective. They aren’t strong along the boards. Just a whole bunch of bleh

A lot of fans deride coaches because they favor vets...and sometimes, sometimes that is valid...Philadelphia is a good example, a lot of their fans want 3 and 4 guys on the blueline that haven't played many NHL or even pro games...the Coyotes are doing that at forward this year, there's a lot of kids there...the team has won 2 of 15, 16, 18 whatever it is...one of which they blew a 3-0 3rd period lead in (Philadelphia). Edmonton was Vietnam for five or six years, just a bunch of 19 year olds going out there and dying...it just doesn't work...
For me, I had a line with two super talented freshman on it...and then I had a line with two seniors and a junior, not quite as technically skilled, but capable...in the games against the best teams, it was the freshman that were nowhere to be found...you need guys that have played...
Also, Guentzel, that has got to go in the net...come on buddy...don't be a pigeon...

Hahahahaha. Coyotes coming off the bench all willy nilly.

Dumo's skating is still...odd, but he looks agile compared to a few years ago.

What...how long have you been playing...? I don't know anyone who has played hockey for more than two years that would jump onto the ice there...

When it comes to keeping pucks in, Schultz is the anti-Letang.

I lost it irl. Like, he immediately went after the puck carrier. Not even the “oh **** I’m early, let me stand here a Mississippi.” Just straight into the backcheckWhat...how long have you been playing...? Good shift from the 4th line, really nice read by Reaves to keep a puck alive...they draw an icing...

We're not going to get one easy blow win the entire year, are we.

Heh, "easy blow"...I mean, we are workin' them to be fair...it should probably be at least 3-0, maybe 4-0...but it's not like they have generated a damn thing in this game against us...it's weird against really, really bad teams sometimes...sometimes you're like "dude, let's murk these muppets" and then sometimes you play down to them and you end up in a 2-1, 3-2 game...it can be tough to get up for a team that's just so bad...we'll pull this out...
