All started because Kris Letang looked the ref in the eye, and still decided it was a good idea to try to go up the wall with it.

Refs used to give guys the ice by kinda sitting on the dasher a bit. That ref clearly had no intention on moving (not a bad thing; probably a good thing).

Didn't get a chance to watch the game. Overall, how'd we play? The highlights showed considerably more chances for Edmonton than us.

Probably because he expected an NHL level d man with that kind of time and space to not throw it up the wall after making eye contact with him.

Letang has had some blunders that would best be described as rookie mistakes. He'll be fine, though.
