2017-18 backup goalie?

This isn't the venue for this discussion...but I'd have a veteran, reliable backup ready...multiple reasons...

I agree with mikey, that it should be a vet. FA's available this Summer:

I'm ok with this. The back-up market is thin and you aren't going to land a bigger name with Murray swing is **** around.

I'd also wonder what Halak would go for. He got a bum wrap in NYI, but he was so devalued towards the end there.

At least he wouldn't be able to Halak us anymore. Maybe we can net one of Dallas' useless 'tenders on the cheap.

You could get either of the other two Dallas goalies very cheap acquisition wise... it is cap hit wise that they are not cheap at all.

I vote Jean-Francois Berube. He fills both the backup role and the "French-Canadian guy with two first names" role. Perfect fit.

I don't know if I would go far enough to call Murray injury prone but there's a good chance whoever is starting next year might have to take over for a month at some point

Perhaps with his ties to Carolina, GMJR will acquire Cam Ward to back-up Murray. And CAR go with Lack and Darling.

Yup... if Murray gets hurt for an extended period of time, then just bring up Jarry to cover that span, and send him back down when Murray is better.
