I genuinely cannot believe that this team won back to back titles. Its not supposed to happen in the NHL anymore. What a bonkers achievement.

It just seems like it happened so fast, the two playoff runs. And because it's basically the same entire team it just kinda feels like one, awesome, long run

They've got to be at least in the top 5 to likely win next year too. Washington, pens, Edmonton, Chicago, a California Team...

How many times have a team that lost in the SCF even made it back to the SCF the next year? The only one I know of in the modern era is the Pens in '09. Maybe the Oilers or Islanders once back in the '80s? Not to mention they have 12 free agents to deal with this summer (6 UFA, 6 RFA), plus they were an 8 seed that got hot at the right time. I'm not surprised at them being at +1500.

I'm fully expecting an early exit for the Pens next year. These guys have played a ridiculous amount of hockey and eventually it'll catch up to them. At least there isn't a made-up international tournament this year.

I'm ok with an early exit as long as it's to the right team...and none of the likely opponents will be the right team. So losing to TB in the ECF is about as palatable as it would get.
