I'm actually afraid to tune in for the Flyers game tomorrow. Not from the physical sense. I just don't expect much.

We scored 3 goals without Malkin today. It's those goofy moments on defense...
That's how I see it. Overall, the Pens didn't play poorly; it was a much better effort than against Philly. But...they had two horrible turnovers and one questionable no-whistle that sunk them.
Yeah, I mean, you can't fault the team for effort in this one...it was there, even in spades at times...just made a couple of mistakes that turned out to be fatal...we get a chance to shake this one off in 20 hours, so, no time to dwell on it...

That's what is and has been bugging me, mikey. They have had pretty good-to-strong efforts over the last several games, but just can't win. They reasons may vary from game to game circumstances, but overall, the power of the talent and team just isn't good enough. And I'm doubting it's going to change over the next four games.

I wasn't as worried yesterday when I posted my thoughts on the possibilities of getting caught by OTT, but I am today.

I turned it off at 2-2, as I knew at that point they would find a way to lose.

I am not watching a single minute of the flyers game tomorrow.

I much like of the Pens roster simply don't give a **** at this point.

So frustrating.

And $4 Mil is tied up in one of the worst signings ever

That's a pretty ridiculous overexaggeration. Ehrhoff was a former potential Norris winner & has had 30+ points in 7 of his 10 NHL years (including last year). Only had a couple of years with less than 77 games played.

Can't predict injuries. A defense of Letang/martin, Ehrhoff/Maatta is a very strong top 4.

I'm out of town and didn't see the game. Someone take up meow's morning meeting tomorrow. Unless no one can stomach to revisit the game. Which sounds understandable.

Ehrhoff has made the decision of re-signing him pretty easy. As in, they shouldn't do it.

Yeah, I'll agree with that. This year, he's been a major disappointment. But it looked like great value when it happened.

I thought they should have used the money on a forward, though when they sign him I said OK, he's a good player, maybe we can trade some D for a forward later. I just wonder if he'll have a healthy season next year. I also don't think this team should dress Martin/Ehrhoff/Scuderi/Lovejoy. Maybe two of them.

Lovejoy isn't Despres so he is a target. I mean I get it, most people(including me) liked Despres. I still think the trade was uncesessary, and would rather have Despres I guess, but at the end of the day it's not that big of a deal. It is what it is, and Lovejoy has been fine here in his second go around IMO.

It's just that this team is not that good. They're ok good, but they are not top tier, that much is clear. They might win a playoff series and if they are really really lucky maybe two, but it will because of luck. meh, I don't expect much this post season. I will watch and cheer, but this season has gone the opposite of how i expected. They started out looking great. Ever since the end of November they've slowly gotten worse and worse.

Yea, any issues with that deal weren't particularly about this season (most would agree that they're relatively comparable players at present), but more in the future. Lovejoy has been solid for us since coming over, and the cole deal is a laugher.

Scuderi remains horrifying.

No Letang, No Maata, No Malkin... it's tough. We have some great players, but the overall we lack depth and we make a lot of mistakes.

Personally, I'm probably still of the mind that if -- big if -- 71 and 58 can come back to full strength in two weeks time we can win the Cup. The letang thing is just killer because there's no way to know, and the dudes been through way too much already healthwise, and now he's at what, reported concussion number 4 or 5?
