Is there a reason why Harrington or Duomolin couldn't be recalled, like a waiver issue or something?

Salary for an emergency recall has to equal or be less than league minimum plus $100k. Chorney is literally the only guy that fits.

not sure how much they make, but the emergency call up has to make $650,000 or less.

Chorney is at least competent if not just solid. He definitely better than no one.

I think the guys that do this for a living and and live and breath the cap and CBA have a way better understanding than we do. I dont think anyone in management wanted to play with only 5 defensemen for the hell of it

They didn't just up and say lets maybe do something now. They were tied up until after last game.

The biggest issue was having 13 capable forwards.

The minimum number of skaters you can have is 18. Because the Pens had 13 forwards and 5 defensemen who were technically healthy, they weren't allowed to make an emergency call up until now, because Malkin was out.
