PPG doesn't have an organ, correct?
No but they have/should have the Vince Lascheid recordings

Ah yeah. Lascheid was the best. I miss the live playing, though. The recordings are good but there's no soul to it. Next person to fill out the survey, request a live organist please.

It seems to come and go or maybe I only notice it sometimes. In a recent game, I heard a number of his numbers.

He could have said "We couldn't come to an agreement so both sides felt it better to move on. I loved my time in Pgh blah blah blah..."

I honestly don’t really see how Jake’s quote is a dig at all

that seems like…exactly what happened

I didn't have a problem with what Jake said either. Bad question

I have no problem with players getting paid. Usually they only have one or two times to negotiate a big pay day. Get that bag. He's trying to play the baby face. Whatever. I guess he can't just say "my plan is to get a **** load of money."

I mean, it implies that if he wasn't traded, he was going to re-sign here in the offseason, which we all know wasn't happening.

Ok, which we all would bet on happening if betting odds were provided and we had to choose "Jake re-signs here" or "Jake signs elsewhere"

The whole thing is such a non-story it's just crazy to me. It played out exactly as it should have

Scenario 1: jake stays and resigns. 2025: Jake

Scenario 2: jake stays and doesn't resign. 2025: nothing

Scenario 3: jake goes. 2025: Bunting, 4 prospects, jake opportunity cost.

They were comfortable enough at the drop off between Scenario 1 and Scenario 3 to not risk ending up in Scenario 2. That's how you stay employed...

BTW the replacement cost is another $5M player. I think some of us, myself included, would have entertained moving jake for two top-9 forwards before last season to lengthen the lineup. So we effectively achieved this and added 4 futures in the process.

if I’m Jake and I see a fringe NHLer like Graves get a the contract he got I’m pissed if I don’t get a large chunk of change. I don’t blame him for asking for what he may be asking for and I don’t blame the Pens for not meeting it

Jake not staying here is mostly Hextall’s fault

This is exactly where I'm at.

It's not for nothing that Bunting is a good hockey player; the organization is completely boned if they don't replenish their prospects, and the Jake trade bolstered that. So, as you said, the extra $5 million could go a long way. And the presence of Bunting might make it possible to trade Rackell or Rust, which would free up another chunk of money.

If Sid and Geno were ten years younger and this team was near the top of the division, I would have no problem re-signing a player like Jake. Looking at where this team currently is, however, it is absurd to give a 30 year old winger a forever contract.

Sullivan does not like Jarry. That is an interesting situation to me. I'm making this up entirely, but my guess would be he doesn't love his compete level.

My guess is he's here one more year at most.

Sullivan or Jarry? :pop:

(Unless they get off to a slow start next season, Sully isn't going anywhere)
