I think that's Doug McLeod? He was the radio guy with Stan for a few seasons in the 90s.

We get blown away by them...maybe we win a game. It would have been like a more exciting version of losing the 2001 Eastern Conference Final...Like...what was your expectation against the 96 Avs though?I was completely devastated by that 96 team not winning the Cup. **** the Panthers.

Me too. My dad told me they were winning the cup that year so we started a scrapbook and every morning I was cutting out newspaper clippings to commemorate the 96 cup run that wasn't.I was completely devastated by that 96 team not winning the Cup. **** the Panthers.
I remember going to the rat trap game.
That was really a hell of an offensive juggernaut but the defense was weak and the goalies struggled.
But man, naslund for stojanov as well as Ronnie's broken foot sunk that team.

Both were before my time, but the 96 season loss reminds me of the Broncos losing to the Jags in 96. Florida based, cat-mascoted team upsetting and stopping my team and stopping both from winning three championships in 5 years

I never thought they would beat the Avs so 96 never bothers me that much.

Looking at the standings I was probably more worried about the Wings than the Avs
