They are. No surprise with Fox. Marino is a found wallet. A mobile, smart defenseman with adequate or better puck skills that just waltzes right on to a playoff team...yeah, bingo. Riikola, in his own way too.
Yeah, seems like Marino is somewhere between Niskanen and Schultz, in terms of the Penguins falling into an anchor for the defensive core.

Where do you project Marino long-term? Last week I heard Bob Grove, who I like but don't particularly trust when it comes to player projection, declare Marino a future #1 defenseman. While I think he's extremely good and has the ability to be a top pairing defenseman or anchor an extremely strong second pairing (which he's kind of already doing), I don't think he has the "Power Play QB" skillset that would typically be associated with a true #1 defenseman.
Middle pairing guy who can play in all situations. My unknown is: can he lead a pairing? That's 3 vs 4. There's a difference.

Word. That's what I assumed, though I think he's done enough lately covering up for Petterrson being a dummy sometimes that I think he can lead a pairing.

    McCann-Crosby-Simon
    Kahun-Malkin-Rust
    Galchenyuk-Agozzino-Hornqvist
    Aston-Reese--Blueger-Tanev

    Johnson-Letang
    Pettersson-Marino
    Riikola-Ruhwedel

That third line is diarrhea. Horny deserves better.

Simon will be swapped with Horny by the second period.

I expect Horns and Simon to platoon in that spot. Galchenyuk and Agozzino can bring a deck of cards or whatever.

That was facetious. While that was probably one of the best teams they've had during the Crosby/Malkin era. They were also still battling the Sid-concussion demons, and were essentially on constant tilt. Basically one cheap shot from the flyers and every player lost their ****.

I was on the fence about going tonight. Gonna surprise my son after school. Scored 2 in 226 for $77 total off of Ticketmaster.

I often marvel at the Art Ross banner hanging at PPG and how maybe 7 years ago we had about half of the winners since 1991 or so? We've been lucky
