Tom Kostopoulos will be our player development coach going forward, Andy Chiodo the goalie development coach...a couple of Generation Xers that actually get to stay in the NHL...

Add a 9th place Selke finish to Crosby's resume...he has finished top-10 the last three seasons...basically since Pascal Dupuis left, he gets a lot of credit...89 points and even on the season, still ended up on 12 ballots...

I wonder if, as he enters his mid 30's and slows production wise if he'll earn a Selke at some point.

Josh Yohe: “Phil Kessel is so grumpy. In all my years of covering him I’ve never even seen him smile.”

Yohe is slowly turning into Mackey RE: Phil.

He posted an article titled "Phil is willing to be traded", but all Phil said was "If I get traded so be it"

Mackey has turned the other way. He’s been stirring the **** for over a year and now he’s solidly in the “why would they trade Phil?” camp. Dude is a joke.

Tbh just having the opposite take of Yohe all the time isn't a bad strategy

Josh Yohe: “Phil Kessel is so grumpy. In all my years of covering him I’ve never even seen him smile.”

Arizona's GM called Yohe out, on national media, for blatantly making stuff up. People need to just point at Yohe and laugh.

So what, about 8-8:30 we'll see what we get for Phil?

My God. I had to look up who the GM was...he's 29 years old, born in 1989. Our HOF centers are older than him.

How did I miss this? That sounds arousing. I've never understood the cult of Yohe. Dude is a hack writer, lends no insight into the game, and is a bullshit rumor mongerer. The best hockey writer this city has had in the last 20 years not named Dave Molinari was **** DK and unfortunately the diabeetus turned him into a crazy person.

Just me lieing again... Wasn't national, Arizona based.

"“I’d like to know more about it, too. I think it’s terrible reporting,” Chayka said. “It’s inaccurate across the board from start to finish. I don’t know where some things come up. I’m the one having trade discussions, those discussions with the Penguins haven’t occurred. Unless someone else is making calls that I don’t know about, I’m not sure where his information’s coming from.”"

... and I got this from lgp... yikes! Blatant thievery!

Good.

Count me in on the camp that never understood the "Yohe is an amazing writer/I only subscribed to DK because of Yohe" logic.

I actually think Chayka was more upset at the insinuation that his team is only spending to the floor. That's more of a hit to the business aspect to Arizona more than the actual players - and can mess with tickets, etc.

This was the first thing I thought of. This was after the ECF game 7 win vs. TBL in 2016.

Pittsburgh Penguins acquire No. 58 pick in 2018 NHL Draft from Colorado Avalanche for No. 64 and No. 146 picks.
Pick #53: Calen Addison, D
• ADDISON LED HURRICANES DEFENSEMEN AND TIED FOR NINTH AMONG ALL WHL BLUELINERS WITH 11-54—65 IN THE 2017-18 REGULAR SEASON (68 GP). HE ADDED 7-12—19 IN 16 POSTSEASON APPEARANCES BEFORE LETHBRIDGE WAS ELIMINATED BY EVENTUAL CHAMPION SWIFT CURRENT IN THE CONFERENCE FINALS.

• HE RANKED SECOND AMONG ROOKIE DEFENSEMEN WITH 9-24—33 IN 63 GAMES DURING HIS ROOKIE SEASON OF 2016-17, BEHIND ONLY PORTLAND’S HENRI JOKIHARJU (9-39—48 IN 71 GP) – A FIRST ROUND SELECTION (29TH OVERALL) BY THE BLACKHAWKS IN THE 2017 NHL DRAFT.

• INTERNATIONALLY, ADDISON WAS A MEMBER OF CANADA’S GOLD MEDAL-WINNING TEAM AT THE 2017 IVAN HLINKA MEMORIAL (2-4—6 IN 5 GP) WHERE HE LED ALL BLUELINERS IN GOALS AND SHARED SECOND IN POINTS BY A DEFENSEMAN. HE ALSO CAPTURED A SILVER MEDAL WITH TEAM CANADA BLACK AT THE 2016 WORLD UNDER-17 HOCKEY CHALLENGE (0-3—3 IN 6 GP).

• MODELS HIS STYLE OF PLAY AFTER AVALANCHE DEFENSEMAN TYSON BARRIE.

Pick #58: Filip Hallander, C, Timra - Sweden 2

Pens have picks left in rounds 5, 6, and 7.
Jesse Marshall

Addison was the top scorer among WHL defensemen. I had him at 26 overall. Total steal to get him this late. Didn't even entertain it as a possibility as a result of how high I had him ranked. There is no prospect in the system like Addison.
Chris Peters

Penguins trade up to get one of the better forwards remaining. Filip Hallander played a substantial role in the Allsvenskan. After not having a first-round pick, the Pens did really well with adding Calen Addison and Hallander. High upside guys that need more time to develop.
Scott Wheeler

The Pens killed it in the second round. Had both Addison and Hallander in my top 25 all year, grab them in 50s. Hallander played injured most of this year and still produced in Allsvenskan.

I don't like the Kunitz rumor. It'll take one bad game from Sid to have him clamoring for Kunitz back on his wing.
