I believe if you are on the roster at noon you get a NHL check. Noon or midnight

(h) Solely for purposes of this Article 13, days on the Active Roster shall include
days that the Player is on a Club's Active Roster at 5:00 p.m. New York time. Days on the
Active Roster shall not include the day the Player is removed from the Active Roster (e.g.,

Based on timing he wouldn't be paid but it sounds like he practiced, so he would get paid, but then why not just leave him up all day?

You have a deadline at 5 pm (?) each day to set your roster, and that's when cap stuff gets calculated for the day...so, it's probably not a matter of real money, but just cap maneuvering...

Out of curiosity, where? Years ago shortly after the Lemieux Sports Complex first opened Letang decided to take a midday stroll through the Cranberry Target and apparently caused time to stop for many female shoppers.

PO seems to have dropped down to the bottom of the depth chart. Maybe we'll see him traded this year but I'm not sure of his worth.
