This year has shown he’s not a high pressure situation keeper. Tough to trust a guy like that

I swear half of the goals I see him give up, he's completely out of the crease after a ridiculous slide.

He's the only goalie I can recall in recent memory who routinely somehow ends up at the bottom of the circles while trying to make a save

https://dkpittsburghsports.com/2022/11/ ... alysis-tlhThis was the Penguins' first win in Chicago since Feb. 27, 2009, a pretty insane stat. That game was a 5-4 overtime win for the Penguins, with Jordan Staal, Chris Kunitz, Miroslav Satan and Max Talbot all tallying in regulation, and Malkin getting the overtime-winner after the Penguins blew a two-goal lead in the third period. The Penguins managed to take three puck-over-glass penalties in that game, two by Ruslan Fedotenko. Marc-Andre Fleury made 41 saves on 45 shots.

Fedotenko. Now there’s a name I’ve not heard in a long time. A long time.

Not looking good for our bet Michael. Looks like the $10 side bet will kick in

Heh, I didn't even remember seeing that side bet. I wouldn't have taken that, I must have been drunk. But I said "double stamped", so, I'm definitely on the hook for that...with a clear head, I probably would have made a provision that the whole thing is void if he ends up some place else...but oh well haha

It’s understated how poorly Kapanens career has gone the past 1.5 years. His trajectory was at least an above average third liner and it’s like he’s heading towards being out of the league soon

From everything I've heard/read - it sounds like because his dad was in the league, he automatically has this belief that he's good enough to be there.

Well, he's definitely good enough to be in the league...it's not like he's Colton Sceviour and he's just always skating up hill...but without application of skills, anyone can fall out of the league, of course...
He probably belongs on a worse team for his contract value...or he should be cheaper on a good team...

He (and sully in regards to him for that matter) are in a bad spot. Like he needs to play but right now who is he going in for? The fourth line has been great since teddy came back. I don’t think you can sit Heinen.

Hes not going to make it as a top 6 guy but hasn't focused on the right parts of his game to be effective in the bottom six

I haven't really even noticed Heinen this year, to be honest...that's not saying that I want Kapanen in, but just a general commentary...
I don't think the bar to get into the lineup is that high given our group...if I had to guess (based on what I know about Kapanen), his practice habits are a part of these lineup decisions...

Heinen had a good first week and I haven't seen him since
mikey's Thread of Penguin Randomness
Heinen doesn't do anything when he isn't scoring. Which is fine, he's cheap af and you just hope he can do something like last year. It's still worth it for 15 or so goals if he pulls it off
