This came across my YouTube today. Kovy was awesome. Also, everything about this broadcast just seems... better. Civic Arena > PPG Paints, Lange > Mears, Ezdo > Errey, Barbaro > Miller, Song 2 > Party Hard.

Disagree. Edzo is an excellent color guy. Errey is not bad at all, but he's a straight homer. Edzo was only in the booth for three seasons. I think his terrible run as HC soured fans on him.

Maybe. Edzo doesn't come off as a homer on the Blackhawks feed though. I prefer Edzo's style over Errey but I still enjoy Errey. It's definitely not as big of a gap as Lange vs. Mears.

Olczyk has to be one of the worst, least knowledgeable color guys out there...

Errey is just a cheerleader...I'm not saying he's good. But compared to Olczyk, who will actively make you stupider about the game (I've seen him actually diagram things just flat out incorrectly, just purely misidentifying what's happening), Errey is better. Errey isn't a net negative like Edzo...

Errey is excellent on a national stage. He did the WJC a few years back as a studio guy. He was shockingly ridiculously good

also...lange, steigy and mears are all bad but honestly give me steigy. he's at least both hyper engaged and enthusiastic - even though he's an awkward moron. mears is a kid at home recording his own track on top of the broadcast and lange (in his final TV days) was an incoherent mess, and i also think his goal calls are dumb.

i don't look to convince anyone of all this. just my own POV.

i didn't grow up watching lange. by the time i got to see pens broadcasts on a regular basis, he was trash. maybe prime lange was great and his goal calls didn't seem completely contrived and lame.
