Ottawa is like 0-for-the-last-million games.
So any day now, really.

Vegas is ice cold right now too...
Jack Johnson and Zach Aston-Reese for Cody Eakin and Jaycob Megna?
Eakin can play LW and C, he's expiring where as JMFJ isn't...Megna is a fringe guy, but in theory he could play in the league...Vegas is always into toughness, we're into speed and peskiness...
This gives Riikola a jersey every night when everyone is healthy, which I'm good with...

Would that be designed to get rid of Johnson?
mikey's Thread of Penguin Randomness
I know Aston Reese leaves a little to be desired in his game, but I think I'd have a hard time breaking up the ZAR-Blueger-Tanev line right now, even if it means we get rid of John Jackson

So, I'm assuming the biggest need is a strong 3rd line C, no?
Losing Guentzel is very bad, but it looks like Crosby and Malkin are in that place where it doesn't matter who is playing on their lines.
Edit, it does matter, but Crosby and McCann work, and Malkin and Rust are piling on the goals. So that other wing spot isn't going to make or break their run.

Yeah, it cashes out on Johnson while his value isn't negative, I presume...at the cost of some of our toughness...but I don't think we're designed to be tough, we're designed to be scrappy...Eakin and Megna, especially the former, qualify...
I never thought I"d find a JMFJ ditch deal that MR25 didn't like...and it's for the fringe-iest of players on the main roster I feel like...I thought I was the biggest ZAR backer (which doesn't take much) and I kinda like him as a 4LW...but man, there's a bunch of that guy in the league...
I'm also a bit puzzled by the vitriolic hatred of Reaves but the defense of ZAR in this case...

A RHS 3C, yes...So, I'm assuming the biggest need is a strong 3rd line C, no?

He can...I'm acquiring him to be a top 9 LW though...get Chucky out of the way, some replacement for Jake, not trustworthy of Simon, etc.
It also keeps McCann with Sid in a pinch, which seems like a better fit than him at center...

Eakin is like the skinny guy from NES Ice Hockey. He buzzes around the ice and makes enough of a disturbance to give the calvary time to arrive.

How would the lines shake out after such a trade? I am honestly curious since you want to play Eakins as a LW.He can...I'm acquiring him to be a top 9 LW though...get Chucky out of the way, some replacement for Jake, not trustworthy of Simon, etc.

I would love me some Reaves, btw. Imagine him on the same line as Tanev...

Kahun-Malkin-Rust
Eakin/Simon-Bjugstad-Tanev
Lafferty-Blugers-Chucky
Then we find a real 3C...and Jugs goes to 3 or 4RW...

I like how you left your favorite player out of that lineup.
