You people realize that you are talking about Benning, right? Because it really doesn't seem like you do...
....and in 2016 you said the same thing about Justin Schultz.

Ah, you had to go back 3 years to find something that I said (maybe) to use against me.
Or maybe I was just pointing out that the Pens organization has a pretty good track record of picking up defensemen from teams they had fallen out of favor with (Marino, Schultz, Cole, Pettersson, Daley) and have got some great seasons out of them.

Johnson and Hunwick were free agents, not trades. Scuderi and Ehrhoff were different GM'S altogether. And sure, it didn't work with Oleksiak and Gudbranson here, but what did those guys end up costing the franchise? Sometimes the risk is worth the potential reward.

It's much less likely that someone succeeds in a big way in the NHL than fails...the fact that it's close is a testament to our ability to develop and identify d-men...Dumo was another one of no regard...also, Letang gets lost in this, an offense only mid round pick that became a perennial Norris contender...
