Because Kane is an ass and the Pens don't need anyone like him on the team.

That just means he isn't the bet option, not that it makes no sense anyway. Nor how trying to corner the league on 4C's does make sense.

Looked at the league leader for the first time in a while and found that 81 (not an All-Star), 87, and 71 are 4th, 12th, and 14th respectively in scoring.

This doesn't even register to me as anything. Road back to back/3-in-4 against tough opponents...it's a young player who is not an NHL regular, maybe it's an extra hard gym day, extra hard practice he's coming off of as part of the plan...development doesn't stop at the NHL level, they still need to cultivate this talent, it's not just on the player...

Refinement and crafting, still plenty to go on the development arc(s)...he's not the best he can be right now. I doubt that a handful of AHL games and being 20 lend themselves to "sink or swim time"...so hopefully that was just said in jest...

I would only agree with that scenario if it was only worthy of a one game suspension in the first place. I think this was easily a 2+ gamer, and that’s ignoring the fact that it was Dustin Brown.

Yeah, I'm actually shocked that meow pushed that viewpoint. This was one of the most dangerous hits in the NHL of the entire season, and Dustin Brown is a repeat offender that has been dirty on multiple occasions. That easily could have been a 3-5 gamer and 95% of hockey fans would have been OK with it. Just getting the gate in the game is hardly an adequate punishment for that hit.
