FWIW I heard it is because Jarry's flight is delayed because of snow.

He's an UFA this summer, so of course he is on the block. Him and half their overpaid team.
They can have Scott Wilson for him. Oh, wait. Josh Archibald. Damn.

3 years at 5.3 cap hit, no thanks. Unless they take Hagelin and only Hagelin.

Backseat driver: With the current team, can the Penguins win the Cup this season? Most observers think no. What realistic trade could JR do to improve the team?
Jason Mackey: Focusing on hockey only, I think Andrew Shaw could be a fit. But I don't like the off-ice stuff. I like Pageau from Ottawa, but I'm not sure of the ask. If they could get Bozak for a reasonable price, I'd like that, too. Could play with Phil. Keeps 87, 71 and 81 apart. UFA after this season. Could probably cut ties and trade Phil, too, if Sprong turns out to be the real deal.

I'm gonna go ahead and say this is a genuinely held belief/wish as opposed to purely manufactured

Maybe I am a bit slow to catch up but it seems that they have gone back to giving Crosby, Malkin and Kessel one line each. I like that idea since it is more difficult to defend against three good lines.
Crosby with player 8 and 9, Malkin with player 6 and 7, and finally Kessel with the 4th and 5th best player. (I know it is not entirely true, but the point is that it seems that the talent is spread out on the first three lines)
How do you think it looks/works? I know that they have won the games score-wise, but I am thinking about the play.

I mean, center depth is the name of the game. Centers make the line in most cases. Our breakouts/zone exits are designed through the center lane. We often even enter the zone down the middle (though, that's probably confirmation bias a little bit because we have two of the best centers in the game)...if I'm an offensive minded coach (which I am these days), I'm trying to cross the blues in the middle and cross the red out wide. The Penguins do a good job of this and with Guentzel in the three hole (and his development as a hockey player has been impressive this season) and Kessel down there, it allows for a lot more flexibility and more reliable exits/entries. Guentzel has quickly proven to be a better distributor of the puck than Sheahan.
Re: Kuhnhackl - he's been on my list of top players all season, relative to his role. He's had a very good year.

Anyone catch the Kevin Stevens segment on HNIC? Props to Lemieux for being so loyal.

Rust will eventually return; this team can win with the current F group. If a C falls on their lap, sure, but I’m not seeing it as essential.

Paul Martin waived today. It's a shame his contract is an anchor. Would be solid added depth probably. Probably not though.
