I agree. But I can see a lane where people who staunchly believe that the MVP means that he's basically alone dragging his team to...anywhere. McDavid has Drai and nothing else. Kucherov has Point, Hedman, Vasi, etc.

I agree. But I can see a lane where people who staunchly believe that the MVP means that he's basically alone dragging his team to...anywhere. McDavid has Drai and nothing else. Kucherov has Point, Hedman, Vasi, etc.

Meh, dude had 128 points, his team won 62 games. He was an absolute unit even with all those other guys.

A Hart finalist who does not make the playoffs should not win over another who does make the playoffs unless they did something absolutely extraordinary (like breaking a record or something) or they had their team in the playoff hunt until the last game of the season.

The Oilers were 25th in the league and were out well before that point.
