At seven one-way deals and $27 million wrapped up in this defense...I'm not sure there's a lot of ability to add another d-man...

Didn't the Pens sign some Fin on defense?

Think he has what it takes to give Ruh a run for the number 7 spot?

Meh, probably not. Because Riikola doesn't need waivers and isn't RHS...so he'd need to blow Ruhwedel and/or Oleksiak out of the water...that seems like a long shot...

That said, I don't know Riikola inside and out either...

We'd settle for some passing highlights.

Pens should be announcing the third jersey soon I'd assume?

Internet jerk-off take: Well, this whole contact he got is basically a found wallet for him...he better be giving some of it back... :dunce:

Briefly heard Mackey on Da Fan this morning before I decided to drive off a cliff. Sounds like he went all the way to Minnesota to write a real humdinger of an article. Can you believe that Matt Cullen loves playing hockey and works really hard in the offseason!?!

Doesn't score. Doesn't hit. Therefore, must be bad. I don't attribute that to any individual here...but you've been around long enough to know that no one likes smaller, smart, low-residue players...Olli Maatta another...

I like Ruh, he is pretty steady and doesn't make huge errors, that I can recall that is. Just simply don't know much about the new Fin and mikey is generally the one for prospect info. Also Ruh is the clear number 7, thus the first person that could lose his spot.

I have no issues at all with Ruhwedel at #6. Regarding LBL's question, for me, I'm interested to see if one of those younger guys was good enough to push Ruhwedel out of the spot.

Jesus Christ. I just went to his twitter. His entire feed going back a week is Matt Cullen. Like, every single post almost.

At least he's off the trade Kessel train?

Riikola seems to be the only younger guy that has a chance. If I'm not mistaken most of the WBS d core is made up of AHL journeymen.

Yes. We have no prospects in the cupboard that are pro-ready...the most desirable of which broke his neck meat last year...now we have Calen Addison...who, without thinking, may be our best prospect (If Sprong and Jarry are considered NHLers)...if not, it's reasonable to assume Addison is our third best prospect...Hollander and Bellerive are the rest of the top 5...and then a big drop...

Especially since Dylan **** Zink decided to forgo the fame and glory of playing in the NHL to pursue the noble cause of elevating the sport's popularity in Norway by signing with Sparta in the GET-ligaen.
