Maybe it's still too early but that first round is tracking pretty weak.

Makar obviously a superstar and heiskanen a star. I guess pettersson can get back there.

Nah, it is tracking pretty weak...and I think that was the general feeling at the time...guys like Necas and Suzuki and Thomas from later in the round will come along and salvage things for Lias Andersson, Rasmussen, Mittelstadt, Foote, etc.

Jeff Carter has 24 goals in 48 games as a Penguin, including last year's playoffs.

Hextall hasn't made many moves as GM yet here, but man, they've paid dividends so far.

Of course, Makar becomes exactly the same player in Philadelphia as he has in Colorado. All of the young D in Philly were permitted to development and flaunt their talent...Provy's career best in season 2, Myers in first full season, Sanheim in second season, Ghost in first three seasons and scratched for his trouble and then paid to leave. Seems like a sweet environment for homegrown young D growth...
