I would like Hags back on the 4th line. Let him do what he did in ‘17 in the finals. Save his energy and skate like a maniac during his 10 mins. It's another one of those trades where I would have preferred to keep Hagelin. Hagelin in this line-up would be better speed wise than whatever it is Pearson is doing. He’s a simple north south player. I think this team is making him very uncomfortable. I could see him being effective as a 3rd wheel on a Malkin line, but ZAR can do that too.Pearson should sit. Seems useless.
I don’t even want to know about his contract at this point.
That is all things remained the same and they still got Bjug and McCann
Guentzel-Sid-Rust
Horny-Malkin-Kessel
ZAR and the Florida guys
Hags-Cullen-Bleuger
This is our best lineup. I will give you guys a break and not include Sprong.

Hornqvist cannot play his off side...

All things considered, I'd value Hagelin more for his speed and PK ability than whatever Pearson is doing right now. Don't even really need to be a speed team. We're not a speed team any more...

Can ZAR play left and Horny plays with the panthers?Hornqvist cannot play his off side...
I’m getting better at knowing wings. But I can’t picture Hornqvist skating so I don’t know which side he’s usually on at the moment

Oh, sorry...he shouldn't...no one has any ability to make space for the other...
McCann is kind of fast, but has no skill. Bjugstad is big, but is too slow off the blocks and his best asset is his shot. Hornqvist isn't fast and has no skill. That would also move Bjugstad back to the middle...which he hasn't been effective at in the NHL...
If we were trying to recreate Cooke-Staal-Kennedy...maybe, with some very strict directives, you could get that (less production) out of this group of Cans-Jugs-Horny but I don't think it would be as good offensive or defensively as 24-11-48 were for us...
There's enough puck carriers and skill on this team still where you don't want to get caught in a situation where five guys can play 15, 16 minutes a game and not be able to do anything but turn the puck into a square...
Any non-Letang pair with this line on the ice could only hope to incubate it until it hatches...

I like mushing players together in haste, but would like to be more thoughtful.

I have some concerns about Sullivan and Murray that began early last year, and have been continual since. At what point am I allowed to elevate this to something actionable? And I don’t believe in a post cup grace period beyond one year.
