Sheary and #1 should get it done.

Maybe if they're getting good value on Hoffman some place else...

He has a year left on his contract, so I'd be sursprised if that'd get it done. Then again, I said Sheary may be a little overvalued league-wide, so who knows.

I just don't think that addresses a need for Ottawa...value or no value, adding middle-aged scorer (for lack of a better term), though cost-controlled just doesn't make a ton of sense to me in this deal.

Which is why they'd probably ask for Jarry or Gustavsson. Meh, we'll see.

Yeah, I'd think Gustavsson and 1st and keeping Hoffman, might be more valuable to them than Sheary and a 1st...but like I said elsewhere, there is no standard valuation for this stuff...if they go "ya know, Sheary would really help Colin White when he revs it up and we can get Robert Thomas and a 1st from St. Louis for Hoffman...we can kind of replace our center depth with younger guys and we only lose about 6-8 feet of scoring range on the drop from Hoff down to Sheary and we pick up a goalie who we had at X on draft board and he's been tracking up since..."

Any requests for Jarry should be met with the GMJR hanging up the phone.

Never say never...what if that's the key cog to get us Erik Karlsson. I mean, if we get Karlsson, there's no point in even playing the entire playoffs...let's just get right to game 7 with Nashville and throw down...

That said, I strongly, strongly do not want to move Jarry. He has tracked up so hard in the last 12 or so months...this time last year, I wasn't really sure how he was gonna break...but it's looking good...

If he, or any other goalie, is part of a reasonable deal then so be it. It'd have to be very reasonable, of course.

The other key cog being dumping Letang and his cap hit in the deal.

Anyone that wasn't out til 4 am last night want to work up a scenario where a three-way deal is worked out where we get Bobby Ryan briefly, just to eat some salary of his and pass him along to someone else...? It's a wild scenario, but it would lube up the far-fetched Erik Karlsson deal...

what is anderson, anyways (besides old)? he almost dragged an, at heart, non-playoff team within a breath of the SCF. now he's dogshit again. i do not understand goalies.

Probably the most inconsistent starter in the league. He's also like 37.

Anderson really epitomizes what goaltending is these days...it's not the talent, there's not much difference between the talent of the 6th best goalie in the league and 19th...it's the consistency in which they can bring that top talent to the forefront that separates...Anderson's best is some of the best in the league, he's Wayne Gretzky 3D Hockey '98 brick wall status...his average/below average/worst doesn't finish a game...

Regardless, this guy is snackin on Hydrox cookies...it's time to figure out who is next...

Fine if they're offering EK then I'd would be willing to part with Jarry. No way any series lasts until game 7 though.

He’s drained. Emotionally and physically. It took him a long time to solidify himself as a starter because he would wear down of the course of a season. With his off ice issues last year, he was playing unconscious most nights. And his style is not “let pucks hit me” / postionally sound, so when he’s off he’s off.

Bobby Ryan passing through sounds like a perfect opportunity to do the unthinkable and trade with Philly.

Not that it would ever happen - but if Sprong is up for being dealt, I wonder what would be needed to get Trochek? Fun speculation chat, that'd be so sweet.
