Probably Kessel next to Guentzel.

No question Crosby and Letang have been our two best players this year...then after that gap, I'm not sure...

The frustrating thing about Letang in that Philly game is that he had been playing well (IMO). There isn't much middle ground with him. He's either terrific, or so bad that I want to strangle him through the TV.

So he had a bad game. It happens

So I get to complain about it. Deal with it.

Thoughts about trying to pry Meyers away from Jets.

I'm guessing you mean Tyler Myers...what does he add to the lineup?

He'd bring up our average height. He'd bring down the average skin complexion.

Yeah, you're not kidding.

fun fact. I was at that game in ATL. took the drive from Charlotte when we lived there. The deal to move them to WPG hadn't yet been announced, but I remember the scoreboard said that they would be back in the fall. I think everyone in the building knew that was a lie.Stumbled across this highlight video from the last Thrashers game in 2011. It's only slightly interesting because I totally forgot Comrie was a Penguin.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/31- ... -nylander/According to multiple sources, Pittsburgh “tested the market” on Phil Kessel. This one is tricky, because the Penguins appear to have decided to hold off on anything involving him for the time being, but that doesn’t mean it can’t or won’t be revisited.

https://www.nicholsonhockey.com/archive ... y-penguinsFriedman spent a few minutes going over the conundrum faced by the Penguins at the time, and then visited present day with Murray.
“I don’t know if anybody saw what’s happening now,” continued Friedman. “He’s hurt, but there’s no question there’s something going on between the ears. And we’re starting to hear some pretty soft trade rumors with him.
While we are on the fear monger train

Yeah, I don't put a lot of stock in that...Murray isn't available right now...
And re: Kessel, you're always listening on a guy that has value, could be on the downside soon, has big money and is potentially looked at as a luxury item...

Kessel accounts for roughly 85% of the skill on right wing for the Pens.

Having watched almost no Pens hockey yet this season, am I to understand that the Pens are now, in fact, bad?
Or is this just first two months of season malaise for a team that is uninterested in the first half of the regular season given their recent history and goals?
The internet tells me that old man Rutherford is extremely agitated and sold low on Sprong.

Going two months during hockey season without watching hockey...? That makes me soft...
We're not doing so hot...
We may well have gotten a more effective player than Sprong will ever be...as a strong Sprong proponent, this was a good trade. If it all goes right for Sprong, we'll lose to his ceiling in time...but we guaranteed ourselves (for all intents and purposes), a quality NHL player...

Yea, just hasn’t been a priority (I’m an old and can only pay attention to so many things). Post cfb regular season my interest will now pick up.
Glad to hear the Sprong trade isn’t a terrible idea on its face.
I assume the Jack Johnson signing is working out as terribly as was unanimously predicted.
