I love the deal. It's a good one for both parties.

"Rust said Tuesday that he would "absolutely" take a hometown discount to stay in Pittsburgh", saying it's a city that "holds a special place in my heart."

He also said he wasn't out to rob anybody. Looks like he didn't. He most likely could have made 7 mil somewhere else plus, he gets to stay with Sid and Jake, which is nice.

What a good dude. Happy he’s staying. Interesting details on capfriendly. No NTC reported at this point. All salary and no bonus. 6.1MM for the first three years, 5.13MM in year four, and then 3.66MM to finish out the last two years. That’s a pretty heavy front load that could keep him attractive trade bait if the window is shut closed and bolted before the contract is over.
