Different Foodland. There are some still in PA/WV, but not many. There is one in Washington, PA.Are there still any Foodlands still operating in Pittsburgh? I did a locator search on their website and it says the closest one is in Alabama. I thought there were a few stores in the area that didn't make the jump to Shop and Save.

TIL about Foodland.
Ray Stevens, a longtime music recording artist, used Benson's Foodland Supermarket, located in Hermitage, just outside Nashville, TN. for the setting of his video for "The Streak", which peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in 1974. In the video, which was actually taped several years after the song's release, Foodland private label merchandise can be seen on the shelves in the background. Benson's Foodland is still in operation as a Foodland outlet, though not a part of the Supervalu Foodland store chain.

FoodlandGrocery.com is the one that's listed in the wikipedia article. It gives links to the southern stores.Different Foodland. There are some still in PA/WV, but not many. FoodlandStores.com gives you locations to the PA/WV/OH stores.
There's also Foodland.com, which appears to be an unrelated Foodland that is based out of Hawaii and doesn't have the stylized F in their logo. But they have Food, Friends, Family, and Aloha.

The Foodland sponsored Jagr rookie card was the toughest one for me to find in the late 90's...much harder to find than his O-Pee-Chee Premier...

It sucks...when I was growing up, there were so many "easy" grabs off of eBay that just weren't worth the time...a $1 for a $25 BV game used of like Maxim Afinogenov or whatever...a card I wanted, but didn't have the money or want the hassle of a whole transaction just for one card...
Basically, I was a hardcore collector for a solid 10 years...right up until I started making money...what a paradox...

I recently prepped my guest bedroom for an influx of old comic books, hockey cards and other various hockey memorabilia, which I will start hauling from my mother's house. I just don't want to start the actual hauling part though.

I went to a bar one time that lined their walls with old baseball cards behind a thin piece of lexan. Might do that in a future game room someday as I can't think of any good use for them.

I come from a long line of window treatment installers (drapes, cornice boards, etc.)...I used the excess drapery rods, turned upside down and installed them all around my room to hold my cards that I wanted to show off. I had over 400 unique Jagr cards going a complete 360 around my room, all in order by year...
This, but upside down...

Brian Dumoulin may just be the 2nd best #8 in Pens history (not counting Rick Kehoe).

Hans Jonsson was **** terrible.
Lines at practice yesterday:
Guentzel-Crosby-Hornqvist
Hagelin-Malkin-Kessel
Simon-Brassard-Rust
Cullen-Sheahan-Sprong
ZAR-Grant-Dea
Dumoulin-Letang
Maatta-Johnson
Oleksiak-Schultz (Trotman)
Riikola-Ruhwedel
HCMS hates ZAR and Sprong, loves Simon.

A little insight on Val Fonteyne, @mikey?
Always in the background, never to hurt a fly...excusing himself to the open ice. Checking winger, sportsmanlike, downright nice...precursor of the "adapted defensive player"...see predecessors that did it to a greater degree: Guy Carbonneau, Steve Kasper, etc. Talented, productive junior and/or minor-pro player...changed game to fit NHL standards with roster requirements. Became a defensive winger/penalty killer...never in the penalty box (played 349 games as a Penguin, took two penalties!)...played almost 1000 pro games (NHL+WHA) and only had 30 PIMs (!)
Unselfish player, good worker, just wanted to make it...think Mike Johnson meets Matt Stajan, Frans Nielsen or even Toby Petersen...
