I didn't click the link...but I question why the Ducks would want to get slower...they're one of the five slowest teams in the NHL, and their backbone is being able to keep pucks out of their net and Gibson is in the MVP race at the moment...

Need to get even for the Despres trade...There is no way that Maatta nets Manson...at least I wouldn't think...

Sprong on the Ducks make some sense...I posed the idea of Sprong and Montour as a base...but what we would have to add would be pretty substantial I'd think...

I feel like I'm ready to let Jack Johnson fly from the nest if that's what it takes.

Slow start for him, so it'd be another change of scenery thing. There is no way that Maatta nets Manson...at least I wouldn't think...

Manson is a defensive guy, tougher. Been the Ducks best d-man this year. Can't imagine he's looked at as the piece to get to us...I don't mean to belabor the point, but the Ducks are playing like leaky buttholes...tough to figure who the good players are right now...

Good. The center depth is a joke at the moment. Hopefully that means less Cullen.Brassard skating with the team in a regular jersey

Might mean less Sheahan seeing that Grant took his spot by the end of the game.

Penguins just showed some line combos. Pearson-Malkin-Hornqvist was one. Simon-Grant-Rust was another. From there, plenty of rotating. Among the ones I saw:
Guentzel-Sheahan-Kessel
Sheahan-Cullen-ZAR
Guentzel-Brassard-Wilson
Sheahan-Cullen-Sprong
Defense was rotating
Need to add Guentzel-Brassard-Kessel. ... My guess is that's probably a keeper if Brassard can go tomorrow.
Sullivan's continued inability to come up with line combinations that make any damn sense is annoying. Here Mike, I'll again do your job for you:Second power play looks different. It's Brassard, Sprong, Maatta, Oleksiak and Pearson (with Simon rotating). Top unit the same: Letang, Malkin, Hornqvist, Kessel and Guentzel.
Pearson-Geno-Kessel
Guentzel-Brassard-Sprong
ZAR-Sheahan-Hornqvist
Simon-Grant-Rust
And once Sid comes back:
Guentzel-Sid-Hornqvist
Pearson-Geno-Kessel
ZAR-Brassard-Sprong
Simon-Sheahan-Rust
Now go try winning a game ya **** losers.

there's an aspect about the tenacity with which a portion of the media rag on sprong that strikes me as hyperbolic
perhaps they're correct? and if they are it seems to me it's a failure - not on the part of sprong - but on the GM who signed him and the scouting dept. i guess it happens ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The real mess up was keeping him on the roster when he was 18. If they had sent him down after 8 he could be tearing up the AHL right now.
