i don't think there's a larger point hidden in here, but that's depressing. So far, CMD has 9 points in 13 playoff games and if the Oilers continue to be run the way they have been he might finish his career
with that statline.

Lemieux is one of the best playoff performers of all time...is there something else to this?
mikey's Thread of Penguin Randomness
It is indeed.
Edit: depressing.

the player empowerment movement in the NBA is going to destroy small market teams. but it's a hell of a show, and gets the most out of star players. i'm not saying i wish the NHL was this way, but a perpetually shitty small market team that nobody wants to play for because of size + geography is a horrifying position to put the best player in the world in. i wish mcdavid wouldn't have signed that deal, at the least. a player saying "nah - i'm gonna play somewhere else, even though i'm the most important thing in this city" shouldn't be sacrilegious. but good canadian boys will be good canadian boys

I can’t find a way to justify the way that G looks. Completely outrageous.

Haha both "G's" are pretty extra for me...but the one on the Pens one seems like he handed the pen off to one of Jerry's kids for a test drive...

Thoughts on Julius Honka as a reclamation project? Since the Pens seem to have a penchant for rejuvenating “busts.”

I'm disappointed with his progression so far...he's got some wheels and a shot, but he hasn't figured much else out so far...he's as good as he was at 19 right now...but since we have the defense whisperers here, the talent base is ripe for the picking...I thought more highly of Justin Schultz in the AHL than Honka at the AHL, but I think Honka is more talented than Niskanen at the same age...
Decent chance he ends up on waivers...maybe someone throws a late pick or project player at them instead...

Talbot is the guest on Spittin' Chiclets today.

Good Pens stuff in there including old names like "Matt Murley." Talbot seems to be a likeable dude. Oh also, Geno used to own a club in Magnitogorsk where the servers had to wear prison guard uniforms.

This is the theater in Phil Kessel’s house. It might be the funniest photo I’ve ever seen.

I can totally get behind that. Only I would probably put the chair on that middle tier.
