Our seats were in the middle of the E balcony. I loved that point of view, especially before they added the bar/netting. We sat a few rows back from a group of guys who once a game would yell to the opposing goalie "Hey [insert goalie's name], you're a sieve!" and the rest of his friends would yell out "AND YOU KNOW IT." He'd follow that up with "Give it up you bum." I always looked forward to that in the second periods.

I know it's a road game, but this is still one of the most memorable games I've ever been to:

Do you recall what percentage (roughly) of people that stuck it out...? I recall that being a school night...

My dad and I stuck it out til the end of the 5OT Flyers game in 2000. By the end of the night, it looked and sounded like a pre-season game in the arena. I remember seeing a good amount of people sleeping. I also got to stay home from school the following day so even though the Pens lost, I won in the end.

Maybe half? It definitely wasn't a full arena after the end OT. I do recall them having to re-open the concession stands at one point, which is the only time I've ever seen that happen.Do you recall what percentage (roughly) of people that stuck it out...? I recall that being a school night...

I believe the Igloo would stop serving alcohol around the mid point of the third period. So by the time the 2nd or 3rd OT rolled around, you could tell people were either sobering up or getting very sleepy.

I was on 4-12 from the steel mill. We went to a local bar thinking the game would be over. Boy were we wrong. I remember the bartender locking the door about 1:45 and saying no one is leaving till this is over, and we didn't.Do you recall what percentage (roughly) of people that stuck it out...? Also known as the night that I had both sets of next door neighbors knock on my front door to make sure I was ok because I had the windows open and was screaming and clapping like a mad man when Kunitz scored that goal. I did feel a little bad for Craig Anderson because of all the stuff he went through with his wife and how well he had played not just in that series but the entirety of the playoffs.
Anybody have any other crowd videos? I love these.
I actually did the Game 7 highlight for Sportscenter that night and when Kaspar scored that goal, I ran out of the edit room and hurdled one of those rolling office chairs as I sprinted the tape to the control room. Now, I was still 25 at the time and still had some hops from my HS basketball days but all the hopped-up adrenaline I had from that rush made it an easy clear and saved me from splatting right on my face.I still have the game 6 vs Washington and game 7 vs Buffalo overtime calls etched in my head...that was a fun little run...

I went to college in Caps territory and watched that game with 4 friends who were all Caps fans and there I sat wearing my Lemieux jersey (with the diagonal Pittsburgh on the front...still have that jersey and love it...bring it back!!). It was a school night and 2 of those friends ended up going to bed before the game ended. When Nedved scored, I jumped off the couch but didn't say a word. I had to walk about a mile across campus to get back to the dorm and I think I may have floated over there. Getting up for my 9:30 the next morning was no picnic, though.Do you recall what percentage (roughly) of people that stuck it out...? I recall that being a school night...
And I still curse the fact that I didn't have transportation to get to be at that game. I had gone to Game 3 but couldn't trick anyone into going to Game 4.

Little Franchise and Mrs. Franchise had gone to bed by then, and if it had gone another OT I was gonna run to Circle K for some smokes even though I don't smoke. Stressful game.

Had half a season in section F18, row A for 3 years. Loved throwing my feet on the railing, kicking back and watching the game. Made it tough to jump out of my seat when they scored though.

We had a split reason plan in E32 in a row under the balcony before making the move to F1 Row A for a little over a decade. Unmatchable view for watching a game.

I'm still one who believes they should have saved the arena but I know I am in the minority.
