FYI: 2009 game 7 cup game is on NBCSN right now. Started at 5.
Just turned it on, 5 seconds before the Talbot goal.

The Crosby handshake controversy and the fans booing makes me laugh every time. The Dead Wings haven't done much of anything since.

But yeah, that 3rd period was the classic sit on the 2-0 lead and hope the clock runs out play. I still remember sitting in a bar and going through about 4 beers in the last 6 minutes or so of the game.

The second I realized that the game was over, it was like a massive Boulder was removed from my chest. Just so, so sweet relief.

The ‘16 cup run was zero stress for me. It just seemed down the stretch the Cup was theirs, even that game 7 against the Bolts didn’t have me nervous. What a ride.

It was legitimately the only time I cried tears of joy in my entire life...it was an ugly cry too...I was so happy...

To be fair, it was ridiculous how long it took him to get to that line.

When the Wings made it 2-1, I thought we were done.

Love Mario's goal at :50. He just barely moves and waits everybody out. The patience is unreal.

Jon Casey had probably already had just about enough of Mario before that game started...

I know it was a different era and equipment was much smaller, but damn Casey looks small in the net.

:thumb: I noticed on that Robbie Brown goal against Hextall that Mario held that puck forever and everyone the Flyers froze. How dominant he was.

it was like everyone panicked when he had the puck, and he knew they would. so he just let them fly on by or freeze up

It's almost painful watching these videos and knowing there may not be playoff hockey this year.

Here are a few more I found but none can match that Kunitz goal.

Love seeing decent videos from the Igloo. Miss that place. Also, Song #2 was a good goal song

I have very fond memories of a shaking F balcony against Washington and Buffalo in the 01 playoffs. It unfortunately did not lead to a championship, but that Game 6 victory against Buffalo with the puck falling out of the sky onto Mario’s stick with a minute and change left was one of the most incredible things I’ve seen. Add in Straka’s OT winner and I still can’t believe the balcony didn’t collapse.

I still have the game 6 vs Washington and game 7 vs Buffalo overtime calls etched in my head...that was a fun little run...

I remember sitting in the last row in 2009ish and my dad had his cell phone between his legs and stood up for a goal and the chair flung it to the concourse behind/beneath us lol
