Yeah it was ZAR’s hand. Kinda funny story, I was walking around Fashion Show Mall in Vegas around lunch time before Pens vs Vegas a few weeks ago and noticed this guy right in front of me with a giant wrap on his hand/arm. It struck me as being larger than the kind of cast you’d wear if a normal person hurt their wrist or something. I then noticed the guy he was walking with was a giant. They spin around to hit a store they had just passed and I caught their faces....ZAR and Oleksiak. Neither played that night, obviously, so I guess instead of a pre-game nap they were doing some shopping.

He didn’t look good last night, which is to be expected after not playing for like 100 days, but I do agree. I like Ruhwedel as the 6

I really liked his game last night. He was ready to go. A couple defensive plays really stood out and he was shooting the puck like this was the last game of his career. If he can do that every night, I'm sold.

But I'd still want to let Maatta heal and get a dependable serious-minded vet on an expiring deal with that cap money. There is zero reason to rush him back as he doesn't improve our odds in a 7 game series. (I'm basing this entirely on some of the comments speculating on the nature of the injury.)

Malkin should probably do himself a favor and shut up.

I was surprised meow said he didn't look good. Though I was at the game so it's different than seeing everything like you do on TV so maybe there were some bonehead plays I didn't pick up on. Or maybe meow just had a bad take

Malkin on his altercation with Raffl: "I missed five games because I had a problem with my neck. He hit me behind my neck. I'm upset."

As long as Tom Wilson is collecting an NHL paycheck, there is nothing a Penguin player would do that I would deem inappropriate in that regard.

Trying to hack a guy in the face after he punches you in the head. That's fine.

Yeah, there wasn't much to what Raffl did...not condoning it, but that's nothing...swinging your stick around, I don't have a lot of time for that...Malkin got off easy...it's also completed unrelated to Tom Wilson, who was not involved in the altercation...

I'm aware, just noting that I can't muster any concern for player safety in this league anymore, because Tom Wilson.

But yeah, Malkin is an idiot and that was v stupid, and if he did that in a close game that put the Pens at a disadvantage, I would be pissed about that.

I'm cool with it, there's a point to be made there...but...

I too still do not approve of Mr. Wilson or his reduced suspension.

But Malkin’s English is rusty. He meant to say that Raffl had no idea about his neck and he was being a giant baby, in a fashion not commensurate with his status on this planet.

I think “commensurate” is where things got mucked up

I can imagine what would be said here if someone had swung a stick like that at one of the Pens. Pretty sure there would be calls for rest of the year or a lifetime suspension.

Not if it was at JMFJ. Someone lamented in the GDT that he wasn't decapitated by a skate.

I’d be pissed at the league for not handling repeat offenders appropriately and refusing to enact meaningful repercussions

Per Bombulie, Penguins lineup at practice looks like:

Guentzel-Crosby-Rust (Simon)
Kessel-Malkin-Bjugstad
Blueger-McCann-Hornqvist
AstonReese-Cullen-Wilson (Pearson)
Dumoulin-Letang
Johnson-Schultz
Pettersson-Ruhwedel (Riikola)
