Here's a photo of the limb you're stepping out onto with that comment:I predict a lot of weak shots directly into opponents' shins.Coach Sullivan: "We've had discussions with Letang about simplifying his game. We encourage defensemen to think 'shoot first' and generate offense from that. We are going to continue to encourage all of our defensemen, especially Tanger, to shoot the puck."

Half baked theory...he does this from time to time where he uses real games (where he looks like mud) to workshop different tweaks to his game. The flip side of Crosby’s point funk is his detail game has never been higher. He’s been very tidy

Maybe. I think it is the knowledge of a man with three Cups knowing that there is no need to be obliterating the league in November.Half baked theory...he does this from time to time where he uses real games (where he looks like mud) to workshop different tweaks to his game. The flip side of Crosby’s point funk is his detail game has never been higher. Either way, he came into the season knowing he'd never win another Rocket award.

Crosby is the least of our concerns.

That was oddly satisfying. Thank you.

Wha wha wha? Letang is like 5th on the list of concerns. And Kris Letang is the biggest concern.Yeah. And?Crosby is the least of our concerns.
The lack of center depth and a listless third line are the biggest concern. Poor play on the road is another.

All valid concerns, but Letang’s poor play has directly lead to far too many goals against already.Wha wha wha? Letang is like 5th on the list of concerns. And Kris Letang is the biggest concern.Yeah. And?Crosby is the least of our concerns.

I mean, they won without him, so should his poor play really be a concern?
That makes more sense in my head then when I read that post. Whatever. Fight me.

I think it should be a concern, yes. Either way, they’re all serious concerns, even if it is just November.

This is paraphrased but real close
Kyp: 'they'd like to move that contract, they don't want to carry that contract to term, they've got other guys to pay'
Duthie: 'c'mon, Phil's going great right now. People in Pittsburgh will be like 'oh no you can't trade Phil'...
Kyp: that's what I'm hearing

When people totally make up stuff about the Pens, why not say that they are shopping Hagelin? That at least make some sort of sense. Shopping Kessel is just ... Hockey press still can't get past the Toronto Kessel and just keep going after him.

They shopped him before, in the offseason...but I don't think they are right now. He's been one of our three best players this year, one could reason to say, our best...I'd love to hear the return we're getting for him...
Seems unlikely...Kypreos made a living out of getting punched in the brain, mind you...

Is it Ron Cook where he is hearing this?

Did he get that from Bud Moonshine?

You would figure Hagelin would go first, maybe Sheary next. I think Kessel is still a year away from being traded.
I think it largely depends on what they're doing with Hornqvist too - does he want a raise? If so? You gotta think about letting him walk, given his age, position, etc.

Hornqvist will walk, I think that's a given. Apart from that, screw "other guys to pay". The Pens are pretty much set for three more years of being serious contenders, so you keep Kessel. After that, blow the whole thing up or whatever.
mikey's Thread of Penguin Randomness
My assumption is that every player aside from Crosby and probably Malkin has been shopped at some point. Why wouldn't you?
