Got in thanks to an empty net goal in a tied game. What a way to limp into the playoffs.

#sad. A bummer we're not gonna see this season's Sid in the playoffs. Damn.

That tweet would be more appropriate if reirden was serving the plate.

If Sid can net a goal or two, he'll finish top 10 in goals...that'd be nice too.

Can we afford to keep Ned and have two good goalies next year as well?

I'd rather Blomqvist starts at least another year in the AHL. Goalies typically take a bit longer to fully refine their game, and you don't want them getting shelled by pros.

It'd be great to get Ned at decent AAV ($2.2mil) for 2 years, but given his recent "starter" play, he might have better deals out there.

Hey getting shelled by pros is exactly how Fleury developed. Of course he needed a sports psychiatrist but that's besides the point.

Defense for next year assuming we can't get dump graves?

Pet - EK
FA? - Tang
Graves - JSI (RFA)
POJ/Ludvig

Can POJ be a realistic top 4 option? I'm not seeing it. Graves seems to be, at best, a bottom pair D (if that...). That really leaves a pretty big hole on LD.

Fleury seems crazy even by goalie standards.

POJ will be traded in the offseason. They tried to find a new home for him during the season, but they couldn't find a deal that made sense.

I'm good with that. He played better as of late, so hopefully that increased his value. Not like giving a late round pick to our scouts helps too much, though...

I'd trade him for a forward prospect that has fallen out of favor somewhere...like Kaliyev in LA or something...

If that's available, for sure, but I still don't think he has too much value.

makes sense, plus we have his replacement waiting in the wings too (Graves) so might as well move him

I mean I'd try and dump graves and Smith somehow but it's not urgent. Ideally they get a couple better players, lessen both of their roles, and hopefully get better results

I don't mind keeping Smith but Graves is a net negative, even in a reduced role imo. seems like every other d-man this season we brought in showed more than Graves did

On that topic. There must be a political spectrum type representation of goalie insanity. Like Hextall on a side, Bryzgalov on another, Hasek on another, and uhhhhh flash in the pans like Raycroft or Lalime on the others.
