I watched a 1999 Pens/Bruins game last night. Lange made a claim for hybrid icing after Kovalev got boarded on one...and Steigy said wouldn't it be incredible to see Zdeno Chara on the Bruins...fun.

09 team sure is fun to watch but my favs were the 91-92-93 teams. Except of course for the 1993 playoffs. I thought the 92-93 team was unbeatable. 17 in a row just unreal.

The 91-92 teams are probably my favorites, as well. Went to a number of games in the playoffs those years. In order:

91
92
16
09
17

Until I turn 40? Yes. I hope to live much longer than that.

It was joke about it "all being over when you hit 40." 50 is far worse.

I'll never forget that 2000-2001 season. First time being a season ticket holder and getting to watch the Lemieux return in person. I missed out on the first Cup years because I was a bit too young, so Lemieux's return was probably the biggest thing I got to witness in person.

That's why I feel so lucky, being able to see both Lemieux and Crosby play in their primes - and actually remember it.

I lucked into seeing some special Lemieux moments in person including his "final" home game in 97 and his return in 01. I'm bummed I missed the prime years of the early 90s, though. Maybe that's why I always felt more connected to Jagr than Lemieux during the mid to late 90s.

That was a blast too. I was at Lemieux's return game. So cool. We were at a weeklong environmental type field trip as a class for the first round of the playoffs with no TV or radio or anything. My teacher would pull me aside each game night and let me know what happened. Then I got to be back for the Sabres series and the Kasperitis goal feels like yesterday. Good stuff

I thought I had a pic of it, but I met Lemieux after his final game in 1997, and had that final game sheet signed by him. Kept it in a frame that is now stored in my closet.

I just found my ice time from the last regular season game at the Igloo with the ticket inside and a Wendell August Forge copy of the ticket yesterday. Forgot I had all that

The most fun championship for me was 16. MJ had basically sucked all the life out of hockey for me... It was at the point where if the other team scored first I could turn the game off because it was over.

I'll never forget how excited we were when we got the text that he had been fired and replaced by Sullivan..
Sitting at Caliente's. (we went back for a celebratory lunch after they won the cup)

When they caught fire in March and went on to win the cup, that was hands down the most fun I've ever had watching a sports team.

I will readily admit it is not the best team, but the personal circumstances surrounding it made it all the more special to me.

The 09 win was massive for many reasons... Taking down Detroit, FU Hossa, first cup for Sid and Geno... It was also the first cup I could truly appreciate.

My dad started taking me to games in 89, and I was of course excited that they won in 91 and 92, but I was still just getting into sports really at that time, and couldn't fully appreciate what I was watching at the time...

The 17 cup comes in last for me because it was not a fun journey. Pretty much everything was stressful af. The 2OT game 7 win vs the Sens will always stand out as a huge moment, but it damn near killed me getting there.

Those late 80's teams were my favorite with Cullen, Rechhi, Robbie Brown, Stevens. Scoringpalooza.

I thought the Pens didn't start until 2008? I'm confused by these "earlier" numbers.
