No, those are RFA rights. Whole different ball game there...The Wild got a 1st and a prospect for Fiala's rights

Ugh, all right, we're all good on Eklund for the year now...
I mean, Tampa is already at a deficit without Palat or Rutta, who they are trying to keep...

Total tool bag.
I'm predicting he signs 4 years 30 million in Pittsburgh

He's a pissbaby. I'm surprised he was able to tweet any news about anything non-Pirates/downtown related.

That being said, 3 years makes the most sense, tying it to Crosby. Have to imagine he'd want paid more for a shorter contract length.

Was he tweeting that from the new Target in lovely and not crime filled downtown Pittsburgh please stop into my irrational storefront today.

I see that the Target is in the old Kaufmann's building. That store was cool. The top two floors (10 or so floors) had wooden escalators.

Apparently he passed the torch to Taglianetti last season and stuck around as an assistant for one final year. Had no idea.
Also, how much do equipment managers get paid that retiring at 55 is an option?

He did it for 33 years so I'm assuming the pay is only slightly better than most of us pencil pushers make, or he's in the low 6 figures.
Still, 33 years is no small feat.

Who the equipment manager during the first two cups era? Dark hair with a mustache.

First third of that was in the ECHL. They paying equipment managers more than meow? Good run as the Ass Man with the Lightning and then finally 16 years running the show for the Pens. I get that they basically pay people to live in Cambria County and that players are pretty generous with tips and gifts, but retiring at 55 after stitching jerseys and sharpening skates for three decades seems like some kind of dream. He did it for 33 years so I'm assuming the pay is only slightly better than most of us pencil pushers make, or he's in the low 6 figures.

Equipment Managers don't make a ton of money off salary. I'd say less that 6 figures on average. They make their bank off players tipping them at the end of the year. I heard from a guy that heard from a guy that knows Dana and he said Dana pulled down almost $400k through tips each season. Some guys throw $50k at equipment guys.

The only thing that would be a detriment there is the hours. When he was more active on Twitter, he'd take a picture of an empty road locker room at like midnight, then another at 5 AM the next morning of him and his assistants loading gear onto the plane. Seems like really long hours.
