Yes, but I'd rather have the feeling of a one goal lead being safe

So the Kahun - Maata trade was a win right?
And Hornqvist has been good when healthy, this year right?
Also how did they get this Marino dude?
( I don't start paying attention to hockey until around now)

- So far so good, Kahun has found his legs here and been productive...and at times cheeky and fun, even. Maatta was replaced by Pettersson, who provides roughly the same thing. A little less puck skill. So the Kahun - Maata trade was a win right?

- Hornqvist has been really good when he's on the ice, yes. He's been productive in dim lighting...at least so far...he's been a good fit for Jared McCann who plays with a lot of pace and is a threat to shoot...probably more of a threat, which means Hornqvist can just go to the net with his shovel in hand...
- Apparently Kevin Stevens had a hand in it...but I'm assuming the whole question is rhetorical...

It was not. How were they able to get a 22 year old defenseman that is able to walk on to the NHL club and be this good?

Trade from the Oilers. Enough said.

He didn't want to sign with the Oilers because of their deep talent pool. Duh.

Oh sorry, yeah, he said he wasn't gonna sign there. There was a Kevin Stevens connection. The Pens and Oilers have a lot of trading history recently...and it just worked out. Nice job by our amateur scouts. It was not. How were they able to get a 22 year old defenseman that is able to walk on to the NHL club and be this good?

not really. he was being overshadowed by Adam Fox who has only 4 more points than Marino though admittedly, on a much crappier team.....
Was there any indication that he was NHL ready when this trade was made?

They are. No surprise with Fox. Marino is a found wallet. A mobile, smart defenseman with adequate or better puck skills that just waltzes right on to a playoff team...yeah, bingo. Riikola, in his own way too.

Where do you project Marino long-term? Last week I heard Bob Grove, who I like but don't particularly trust when it comes to player projection, declare Marino a future #1 defenseman. While I think he's extremely good and has the ability to be a top pairing defenseman or anchor an extremely strong second pairing (which he's kind of already doing), I don't think he has the "Power Play QB" skillset that would typically be associated with a true #1 defenseman. They are. Just saw that there are still student rush tickets available for tonight's game. Do they make you show id still? And do they inspect that id? And do they care if you're in your mid-30s?

Last time I did student rush (2017 playoffs) they gave me **** about my ID saying I graduated in 2015, but still gave me my tickets anyway.Just saw that there are still student rush tickets available for tonight's game. They check the IDs. They don't care that I am 37. My ID is current, though. It usually gets a long look because it's a private school in Minnesota, but they have never actually said anything about it.
mikey's Thread of Penguin Randomness
Eh, it's probably not worth the hassle since secondary market tickets are only $7 more rush tickets.
