So while Bergie was trading for Domi, the Pens apparently had a deal of Sheary/Rust+Simon and Arizona turned it down. Wonder who the plan B is then if they wanted Domi.

Using Simon as a deal sweetener is humorous.

Unless the team that gets him has Sidney Crosby on it I'm not sure he's going to pan out...

Luckily for dodint no other team has Crosby so Simon is safe in Pittsburgh. Just need them to trade for PK so Lindsey Vonn can be a prominent staple of Pittsburgh.

Simon doesn't even register on the Vonn Scale.

Crosby says, "I will retire unless you get Lucic or Bobby Ryan... with 50% retained"
Lucic for 5x$3M ($13M total actual salary over 5)
- or -
Ryan for 4x$3.625M ($15M total actual salary over 4)

Lucic. Less salary. Sid would get him at least 10 extra goals a season via aerial passes in the direction of his caveman dome piece. Decent skater/good speed for his size. Adds a physical presence.
Bobby Ryan is a **** boy who can't skate.

Shelly Anderson had a little more info on this. Apparently they were all around a fire pit. Someone threw something into the pit and it exploded. Bellerive's injuries are minor, but one of the other two players is in critical condition.Bellerive injured in fire ...

Then we really could go after Tavares.

Trade for Karllson and give him all the money OR he takes a discount to play with Sid

You'll get your double L Karllson and you'll like it.

Ryan. Less term, more multi-dimensional offensive player and a better skater.
Simon makes sense to a team like the Coyotes...some people like his potential actually...nothing more than a third liner probably, but for the Coyotes to get a guy like Simon, that's a worthy ask if they get him at near throw-in price...
I would have definitely give a look at Sheary+Simon for say Domi, a B-/C+ defensive prospect like Dysin Mayo and maybe a mid-round pick, like a 4th in 2019.

Penguins re-signed Tobias Lindberg at 1 yr, $650k (2-way). We acquired him as a body in the Ottawa trade...

Saw a tweet last night about him and thought who tf is that guy. Then saw a later one saying we got him from Vegas in the Brassard retention trade. I assume it is safe to go back to ignoring him.

According to NHL 18 he's a Medium mSCR Forward. Your assumption is likely correct.Saw a tweet last night about him and thought who tf is that guy. Then saw a later one saying we got him from Vegas in the Brassard retention trade. I assume it is safe to go back to ignoring him.

Tear up? Seems unlikely unless he goes and plays in some donkey league...
We never really got a look at him, as he stayed (on loan) to Chicago (AHL), so I guess this year he'll be with our affiliate and we'll see what happens...still doesn't seem very relevant, but it also doesn't matter that much...

I am a little surprised by the Lindberg signing since they didn't even bother having him got to WBS after the trade.
