Funny how even in the offseason JMFJ proves to be an anchor.

That said, he may not even be the biggest waste of cap space on the team. Who am I kidding, he isn't.

Yeah, he's not actually in the way...he may make his presence more pronounced this coming season though...we are still dealing with one of the worst defensemen in the league, but he didn't kill us late in the year...

Do we really have ZERO cap space. Well done to get us exactly to the limit but it would have been nice to sign Shattenkirk or one of the remaining UFAs for around a million.
Brassard would probably not have liked to return, but Shehan or Stempniak could probably challenge for a spot.

So how is the team compared to last season?
Kahun <-> Mattaa
Galchenyuk <-> Kessel
Cullen <- UFA -> Tanev
It seems like the defense will be the same since Maatta was scratched in the off season? With Riikola it seems ok to me to lose a defenseman and add a forward. The loss of Kessel will hurt since the opponents needed to respect him.
So the team should be about the same this year compared to last, I guess, since Kessel played a lot with Malkin and we still have two good lines.

Zero? I'm pretty sure we're over the cap, and Pettersson still isn't signed.Do we really have ZERO cap space. Well done to get us exactly to the limit but it would have been nice to sign Shattenkirk or one of the remaining UFAs for around a million.

There's a lot of "hope plays" at forward...

I don't think we'll see any two lines held together for ten consecutive games all year...
Wouldn't mind if Canner or Jugs got some time on Sid's RW. But there's a lot of hope plays on this roster...

I'd be surprised if lines last ten shifts

I can't wait til people start blaming the coach for shuffling lines when he's been given **** all to work with.

Not a lot of faith in this year's group, eh?

A lot hinges on the performance of Geno, Galchenyuk, and Hornqvist. If they deliver, maybe even as a unit, we should be allright.

Bill Guerin will be the next Wild GM, per The Athletic.

Jason Botterill will be the Pens next GM. No wait, Tom Fitzgerald. No wait, Bill Guerin. No wait, erm, Pascal Dupuis.
