Will Sid play at all in the preseason? Seems like in the past he would’ve been out there already. Plus I heard he isn’t practicing every day. Just part of getting old?

In fact, all three are apparently injured.Marino still up ... but so is Trotman. The "extra" forward is Adam Johsnon, I assume due to his injury.

Dad-to-day for him, and Trotman is supposed to be longer term, I believe.

Hate to say it, but the Trotman injury kinda pleases me. Between Marino, PO Joseph, Almari, Czuczman, Warsofsky, potentially Riikola or Rude Beetle, and WBS' own signings like Abt, Erkamps, and Siebenaler, there's enough guys down there without that stiff.
In general, it seems like there is a huge glut of players in WBS this year. Jarry, D'Orio, and Larmi are all on NHL deals to go along with **** Tokarski. The forward situation looks even more crowded than defense. Johnson, Angello, Drozg, Almeida, Bjorkqvist, Olund, Lafferty, Bellerive, Miletic, Lucchini, and Palve making up the list of prospects to go along with veterans like Blandisi, Cramarossa, DiPauli, Agozzino, and Haggerty, plus whoever the hell WBS has signed like Ben Sexton. That list is closing in on 20 forwards.

From an Atheltic article today (Yohe):
• The Pens are a few hundred thousand dollars over the cap and may have to make a trade to become cap compliant
• JR tried to trade Jarry over the summer, but no one was interested
• Jarry remains available
• Jack Johnson is available
• Rust and Bjugstad are available for the right price
• An important note from the article is that JR says the goalie market is heating up After a very slow off-season due to all the UFA goalies available. That being said, if they can't find a deal for Jarry, they will either keep all three goalies on the roster or send one down and hope they clear

Dreger says that we’re trading a defenseman, and that the likely candidate is Johnson. Will probably trade another if they can’t move his contract.

The only reason I came into the thread was to say he looked like he fit better with Crosby and Guentzel's north-south style.
As I said before, it looked like he didn't fit with Malkin's east-west game last week and it looked incredibly obvious.
