If you're on the fence, don't play. We don't play for 10 days after this...

Another milestone coming up. Sid is only 38 points away from being the highest scoring Nova Scotia boy of all time.

I don't really know why people care that they promote it one way or the other.
i saw somebody on the Penguins FB page boohooing about it not because of the empty seats, but because "it's cheapened because they used Student Rush numbers to get there."

A 'sell out' streak speaks directly to supply/demand. When supply is short and (perceived) demand is high, prices rise. That manifests itself in the form of higher season ticket package prices. The Pens have played this shell game for a while, but the fact there is no waiting list anymore coupled with the modest to meager secondary market they're at a point now where they've come to the end of ability to control the perception that the ticket is worth more from year to year.

Student Rush is fine. Perpetuating the 'streak' by simply donating tickets or buying them back themselves is disingenuous. Even the Red Sox had enough organizational integrity to call an end to their streak a few years ago.

Really? Hmph, wasn't it like five digits deep in the Bylsma era or something crazy?

There is a list, which gets you some small benefits if you happen to be on it. And priority when ticket packages are sold. But as a non-list general public person you can buy season tickets in the summer. You just pick yours after the STHWL folks. It's effectively a priority list and not a wait list anymore.

When I got on the list in 2013 or so I was in the 5,000s. When I got off the list two years ago I had gotten down to 1,700. They still call/e-mail and offer full season packages in the summer.

I have to miss watching tonight's game against the Cryers because, as a board member of our local beer league I have to sit in on a match penalty meeting of a guy who, after getting speared in the nuts pummeled a guy (not a match) and then stood over his head thrusting his...pelvic region (that's the match) into the other guy's face. yes, these are adults. :face:
