I still don't have much hope, but they are certainly making it exciting

After last night's results i'd be mildly shocked if they don't make it tbh.

we’re peaking when the other teams are tripping up so it would be a little of a surprise honestly

If we make it, we'll basically be red hot. So, could be somewhat interesting

Aside from the NJ game, they still seem to suck in the 3rd period. They blew a lead to the CBJ, almost blew one to the NYR, and did blow another one today before fighting back and eking out a win.

They're certainly making it exciting, but they have work to do.

Not saying it's going to be the same/is the same circumstances, but isn't this similar to what the Panthers did last year?

It's tough in the league to protect leads, but you still have to take the steps to do it...the Pens are almost playing a 2-3 lock at times...some might even call if a 0-2-3 forecheck, but no one likes the 0 in there...but that kind of represents what's going on. And a lot of it is...what's the talent level you're going against?

TB - Very talented, d-men that can skate, multiple forwards that can carry, multiple forwards that can shoot - blown lead.
Wsh - Not talented, not offensive, basically no forwards that can carry the puck. - protected 3rd period lead (the lone goal was basically a 5 on 3)
NJ - N/A
NYR - Talented team, but had no urgency in that game at all. We still just about blew the lead there.
CBJ - Who the hell knows what that's about.
Car - We protected the lead, but we were just hanging on. Now, that's a structured team. They're not so much a flashy rush team, but they're a puck support/possession nightmare. They lack finish (thus, Guentzel).
Col - See: TB - blown lead.

I'd like to think that this sort of left wing lock type of look would hold down Boston, Nashville, and - even though they're an open offense now - the Islanders because they lack multiple lines that can skate with the puck. Toronto and even Detroit are going to be tough if we're fortunate enough to be up after 2.

So perhaps they should not be so passive defensively against talented teams? Maybe the coaches could look into that...

I'm just tempering some expectations. I mean, it's great that they can build up enough of a lead going into the 3rd at least.

Yeah, well, that's easier said than done...especially for this team. Up until Malkin's parents arrived, only one line had any shot at generating offense. With an older team, you want to dim down the game as much as you can...sometimes you can dim it too much...but I still support the notion of clogging things up because if we open it up, we're even worse off...

We're getting everyone buying in right now, coming back through the middle, attacking the puck in all three zones...that's all you can ask for. Let the puck bounce where it may...

Sports like football and hockey tend to allow comebacks more than others due to the prevent offense teams go into. Baseball and basketball you pretty much are forced to continue to try on offense.

It’s why I enjoyed the 2016 Cup run so much. The Penguins just kept their foot on the necks of their opponents. Even game 7 against Tampa I never felt the lightning were going to come back and win that game.

Picking up the Jagr bobbleheads for my parents because they're sick.

Whoever had the bright idea to only offer two times to pick them up should be fired into the sun.

Going to be even more pissed off if they announce they're offering another time or two for pick up while I'm stuck in this traffic

Like I seriously cannot imagine thinking only offering 1 day for pick up for what likely amounts to 12,000+ people is a good idea.
