In the very limited time I watched him on the international stage at center he looked good. Regardless he’s a versatile player that can play all over the lineup.Dominik Simon has played about as many games at center in the NHL as I have...

I think his nickname with the CBJ was Shampoo because it's pronounced like "sha-poo".

There really is no reason, or urgency, to add another forward. I makes sense to, for now, keep one or two spots open for one or two of ERod, Zohorna, Angello, Lafferty, Simon, O'Connor, Hallander, Poulin, Legare, Pierro-Zatobel, Jeffrey, Moon, etc.

Keep your hands off my Heinen.

Former Bruin. Could be useful, although he wasn't for the Ducks really, I think.

The ducks were listless though. Decent bottom 6 option. Can play wing or center and did score 47 points a few years ago

Heinen is another player that just kind of...is...he doesn't do anything particularly well, but he has the skill and skating and sense to be an NHL player, but just has no role...he's probably a guy that goes out there right after a special teams situation...maybe Fedotenko without any finishing ability...? I guess Tank did hit some people sometimes...ok, maybe not like Tank...maybe like a worse version of Andrew Mangiapane...?

I don’t understand signing a guy like this to a one way. I guess you just waive him if he stinks and hope someone grabs him, I don’t know.
Edit: I guess he’s good enough to get a one way. Maybe he will turn out to be a McCann replacement? I don’t know

He did some PKing in Anaheim, and I think also in Boston. He could be that stopgap 4th line center we were just discussing.

I refuse to form an opinion until I see the JFresh.

Apparently he doesn't take faceoffs despite being listed as a C/LW, so scratch that

It is odd that he started with 47 points in 77 games as a 22 year old... and has gotten consistently less good each year. 0.61 points per game, then 0.44, then 0.39, then 0.33 last year as a 25 year old. He is heading the wrong way with experience.I don’t understand signing a guy like this to a one way. I guess you just waive him if he stinks and hope someone grabs him, I don’t know.

He needs to decide what kind of player he wants to be. Embrace a depth role or be a 2nd rate scoring forward

12 of those 47 were PP points, and it looks like his role there was reduced in subsequent years, either by playing his way out of the PP or getting bumped out by Boston's other personnel.
