Honestly the worst part about that quote is that the jokes like Yohe, Mud Boonshine, Mackey, Bombulie, and Rossi will cling onto it when they write their fluff pieces on how great they think Johnson is and how everyone rightfully pointing out how bad he is is "just a hater".

Booting Bales for Buckley was a big mistake. Said it the day it happened, still true today.

Goaltending coaches are not the same as bench coaches. The relationship with the particular goalie(s) is way more important than with bench coaches and skaters. It is not uncommon to see a coaching change made when a starter is changed. Especially when the styles of the two goalies is radically - and I mean radically with a capital R - different. I get that it is an easy line to draw by starting with Bales getting canned to a decline in goaltending performance, but the coach change had about 1% impact on it. Maybe 2%. Maybe 3%.
