For real games or an abbreviated spring training?MLB is trying for a July 4th launch.

Opening Day.
They basically have about a week to iron out a labor deal. According to Richard Justice, anyway.

Oh, then I am mistaken. Last I read, they were saying they may not have a season...

Will Marchand have to wear a mask so he doesn't lick people?

August would be cool. I'll hopefully be off and spending time with the little 'Om anyways.

I went to pick up some takeout and 105.9 had the 1992 SCF Game 2 broadcast on. That was really cool. Unfortunately they still have Getsoff doing painfully long intermissions so I didn't get to hear much of it.

Nice write up on Drew O'Connor in the Trib:
https://triblive.com/sports/penguins-a- ... r-forward/
Anyone familiar with him?
Thanks to a growth spurt that saw him surge from a compact 5-foot-9 to a stout 6-foot-3, O’Connor earned a scholarship from Dartmouth and in two years developed into the Big Green’s “best player on the ice every game we played this season,” according to former Penguins defenseman Ben Lovejoy, a volunteer assistant coach for Dartmouth this past season.
O’Connor’s dominant sophomore season saw him finish with the fifth-most goals in the NCAA during the 2019-20 campaign and be recognized as the Ivy League Co-Player of the Year along with Cornell goaltender Matthew Galajda.

Hey, friends. Hope all is well.
Sad news: Pens bar Foley’s NYC closing.
I’m looking forward to the return of pucks, but I admit this play-in round business has me revisiting some saltiness about that dismal stretch back in late February/early March.
Catch you all later this summer!

We all know it's Bjugstad.

Better finding out now than when they're all reporting together for camp. Should we set up a poll? My money is on Dumoulin.

I would have leaned toward Bennett as well but since he's no longer on the roster, I'd have gone with Bjugstad.
As for the reseeding situation, I think that's the right move after the qualification round but after that, I think you keep it a straight bracket.

Big rangy kid, plus skater. Definitely has some skill to him. Balanced attacker. Backchecks hard and comes back deep for a LWer. Not a world-beater, but clearly the best player on his team. Played a ton of time, sometimes 24, 25 minutes a night...PP/PK. Wasn't super sold on his hockey sense in my limited viewings. The size/skating/skill package for a 21 year old is workable. It'd be cool if we got a third liner out of this. It's all about the hockey IQ, if he's got it, he'll play...if it's only mid- or low-level, he probably won't make pension...but again, just passive viewings, he wasn't draft eligible (obviously), so he wasn't on my radar...Nice write up on Drew O'Connor in the Trib:
