Of course you don't. But if you argue he's the best at a position over 53 years I think that's a pretty big checkmark in his favor.

Yeah, that's not a good way to go at it in my opinion...from any angle...for me.

Yeah you're probably right. Still think he's had a good enough career

That's probably going to end up being right...unless he completely falls off in his mid-30s...which isn't a completely crazy thought in its own right...

Doubts of 71 getting his number retired is crazy talk.

I read somewhere that the Pens/Mario want to retire 68 but they are afraid he might not show.

Well this was fun thanks for playing. Perhaps I'll think of something else to bicker over tomorrow while I pretend to work

87, 71, 68, and 29 get retired.
Sidenote: what a career for Jiri Hrdina. Dude makes his NHL debut in 88, 4 years after he was drafted, as a 30 year old rookie, plays 250 regular season games and 45 playoff games over 5 seasons, winning Cups in 89, 91, and 92. That’s **** efficiency.

This is why the Pens did that Ring of Honor thing. So that people that have no idea why numbers get retired stop asking of Player X will have his number retired.

Did the Ring of Honor make the trip across the street? I completely forgot about it since the Civic Arena came down.

I think the playoff series I'm least familiar with in my lifetime is the 1994 ECQF vs Washington. Why did we lose that series...?

Watched Game 2 of the 91 SCF last nite. Pens had to kill off 8 power plays in the game and honestly, they could have been called for double that. Both sides were chippy and Van Hellemond let a ton go. In today’s game, it would have been PPs for 2/3 of the nite.
This game reminded me how much Ulf Samuelsson was hated. He kneed Bellows in open ice with no call and the Stars took of after him and Recchi too for the rest of the game.

Stevens and Trots ruined Bellows for me. I can only think of one thing when I see his name now.Source of the post Bellows
