He's in for Dumo, right? He made the team though...Reading too deep, but the gist of that Riikola quote is "See you next year."
I like the guy and hope he sticks.

Sullivan confirms Juuso Riikola has made the roster. ‘I think he’s a guy who has earned his way.’ #DKPS #Penguins
Three goalies are still here.It has to be down to him and Ruhwedel. They're one over the active roster limit.
I'm so good to you, bro.Ah, good point. Get ****, @dodint.
"lol that's Justin schultz replacement not minds" -Olli Maatta
Right, it's a big IF right now. If you recall, early in camp, I floated the idea of Riikola allowing the Penguins to move Schultz, which was more based on Schultz cap hit and current term. But, for as well as Maatta played last year, his foot speed is always going to be an issue in this Penguins system.Depending on how the season goes for him, and what his contract demands would be, I'd be open to it.
Trading Maatta is nonsense. Please refrain from nonsense.
Maatta would bring back a pretty solid young player. He's still young, and signed long term. I don't think it would ever happen but, as you pointed out, his foot speed is a poor fit. The problem with getting rid of Justin is you only have one RHS left on the team.Right, it's a big IF right now. IF Riikola can get a solid 20-40 games under his belt at this level and continue to show the same level of play against the Capitals, the Bolts, the Jets, the Predator type teams, I would be very open to consider moving Maatta for an upgrade at LW. Riikola is only 9 months older than Maatta, so it isn't like you are getting much older. Go and get someone like Erik Haula from Vegas. Haula has speed, and Vegas could use some improved defense after Schmidt, Theodore, and Miller.
But, that type of talk is a bit down the road and requires continued steady play from Riikola to even consider.
