Jake Guentzel has 34 goals, as many as Jaromir Jagr thru his first 100 games

he'll settle between 25 and 30 for the year, I reckon
Which is more than enough for sophomore slump immunity.

Is Crosby free of want and desire. If not, is he still perfect?

Rumors of Brassard. Salary cap says no... can OTT eat half his salary?

Don’t have Jim do the math on it.Rumors of Brassard. Salary cap says no... can OTT eat half his salary?
Having them retain salary would make him more expensive. His remaining cap for this season is 1.4MM and next year is 5MM but his actually salary is 980k and 3.5MM. Say a 25% retain would only cost them 245k and 875k. They might be up for it. 50% could be a hard sell.

Nine years ago, Fleury made this ridiculous save on Jeff Blake:
Also nine years ago today, HCMT was fired, with Bylsma being promoted.

I don't recall what prompted me to Photoshop this (back in 2008), but my only memory of Jeff Blake is making this photo:

Yes, I seem to vaguely remember Blake earning the ire of Pens fans/TPB around that time.

Jason...Blake once open-palmed slapped young Sidney Crosby in the face while with the Islanders...always hated that guy. Wasn't he undrafted and then demanded a trade as a rookie to get more ice time or some ****...?
He is also the all-time leader in putting players offside since it became a rule in 1929...that's possibly true...perception is 9/10 of reality according to a recent law book dodint lent me...

Didn't Blake spear a Pen in the nads? Or did a Pen spear him in the nads? Maybe Ruutu? I can't recall

I'm looking forward to the Mackey article where he declares the team wants to trade Hornqvist because ZAR is basically the same thing.

That's a kick in the pants. Have also read that Plekanec has been heard. That's probably more realistic and better for depth. Haven't seen him play in a long while though.Don’t have Jim do the math on it.Rumors of Brassard. Salary cap says no... can OTT eat half his salary?

If I had to guess I'd say we're after Pageau and Cullen.

Brassard is almost overkill.
I've heard Turtleneck Plek's name tied to the Pens for a couple months now...not sure what we're gonna do there, but with retention, we could probably get it done for a 2...
We went hard after J.G. Pageau and the price just became too high as Ottawa wanted one of the goalies. We didn't want to cross that bridge. Doesn't mean we don't get desperate and do that, but as a 25 year old who is cost controlled for a couple more seasons, Ottawa isn't looking to necessarily dump that asset. They want a good piece back. Brassard they feel confident they can get a 1st round pick out of him and then some...ultimately, I don't think anyone is gonna pay that price though and I don't think they'll budge on Brassard unless it comes from ownership and a money call...

No on Plek. The Pittsburgh turtle neck market isn't strong enough.
