Hornqvist is going to cost a pretty penny - even with being on the wrong side of 30. 2x Cup champ, Cup clinching goal scorer, hard-nosed, straight laced, complimentary winger. CHA-CHING
GMJR has shown he easily walks away from high priced FAs.
All that said, extend that dude now.

My favorite player...but I'm gonna wait to extend him unless he's willing to go short and reasonable now. Otherwise, that waits til after the playoffs to even bridge the discussion...

And make him an alternate captain.

Some coaches like to "save" a letter by not giving it to guys like Hornqvist. You know he is going to lead. You know he is going to play his bag off. You know he is going to say the right things and play the right way. All whether he has a letter or not. Then, the coach can give it to a guy that might be less vocal/leader without a letter, but step into that role with one. I bet we can all picture a discussion amongst the coaches about it and hear Sullivan say, "You know he is going to lead no matter what."

Besides, he gets to wear an A during Malkin's annual week-to-week injury.

Don't the C and A's technically just mean that they can talk to the refs at times that other players can not? Some coaches like to "save" a letter by not giving it to guys like Hornqvist. Technically, no. I do not believe there is a rule that says this. It is more of a...gentleman's agreement. In fact, I don't even know why captains meet with refs at the box anymore. Every one of those meetings ends the same way. Refs tell captains the calls. Captains tell coaches the calls. Coaches want an explanation from the refs. Refs actually talk to coaches now-a-days, so the captains meeting is pointless.Don't the C and A's technically just mean that they can talk to the refs at times that other players can not? Some coaches like to "save" a letter by not giving it to guys like Hornqvist. If you pay attention on some of these scenarios, if an older player is on the ice - and a captain is not - when something like this happens, the vet will meet at the box with the refs. I recall a letterless Cullen doing this a few times.

Pretty solid lol out of me on this one.Why are you even alive?I don't care about calorie count...I'm not sure if this is accurate anymore, but the frosted and unfrosted pop-tarts have the same calorie count which makes it a full blown travesty not to have the frosted.
I'm not a frosting fan and don't put it on toaster strudel (more for the kids to put on theirs).

Hagelin has looked a lot better than his numbers indicate. Same for Rust (who is coming around in box scores), Guentzel (same), new Sutter, McKegg, Rowney...basically almost every forward we have. This has been a weird year that way...which means it will likely equalize and we'll have a strong run coming soon.

Hagelin has been very good defensively this year, I'll give him that...Rust has been shiftier in space. Neither player is much of a finisher...it's like when a DB drops an interception, it's the old thing, "well, if he had hands, he'd be a wide receiver..."

My Penguins calendar for this year has Kris Letang for December. I took it down and threw it away early.

Wait, you don't like Letang?

Letang is the bringer of just one back to back in the month...(Buffalo 1st & 2nd). All hail Letang.

4/12 of the players on this calendar don't play here anymore. SAD!
5/12 if you count Hagelin.
