64, 48, and 42 PP points aren't helping the +/- either. 89-90 was a mess of a season, but 88-89 and 90-91 are similar stories. The Pens scored a **** ton of goals and gave up a **** ton of goals.

I am quite aware. And Coffey could dial it up a bit when games mattered...just like EK. But their casual was very casual...Coffey was scapegoated plenty in other places...

New 3 team rumor seems mega dubious. San Jose doesn’t want the 1sr rounder? We’re paying Chicago a 1st rounder to take Petry. I’d do the trade if it’s real but, it doesn’t seem built in facts.

This is an article I read and even then it says it's a hypothetical deal.

According to this hypothetical deal, the Pittsburgh Penguins could acquire Karlsson, with the Sharks retaining $4.5 million (approximately 39%) of his contract. In return, the Sharks would receive promising young assets in Ty Smith, Sam Poulin, and the Penguins’ 2025 second-round pick (or their first-round pick if the Penguins secure the Stanley Cup in 2024 or 2025). Simultaneously, the Blackhawks would acquire Jeff Petry, who has been rumored to prefer not playing in San Jose, and the Penguins’ 2024 first-round pick, protected for the top five selections.

Petry isn't so bad that we'd have to pay to make him go away. I think part of the payment though, hypothetically, is that Chicago picks up a big piece of EK's contract for us...

also what would be in it for Chicago? They’re rebuilding so I doubt they care about getting a Petry anyway, even if he’s good. The first round pick makes it worth it for them
